Symi
How To Get There
The fact that there is no airport on Symi can only enhance your holiday as it means that none of the big package holiday companies go there.
To get to Symi you fly to Rhodes from Manchester, Birmingham, Gatwick, Belfast or Bristol with most flights departing on Saturdays. From Rhodes you take by Symi's own high speed ferry 'Panormitis', hydrofoil or inter-island ferry. The sailing is 1 hour 45 mins by ferry or 45 mins by hydrofoil from Rhodes.
You will be met at Rhodes Airport where a taxi will be waiting to take you to the port for the next available hydrofoil or ferry. Another representative awaits your arrival on Symi.
Symi can also be reached by ferry from Athens on the mainland.
On offer is a full travel service including flights, car hire and private taxi transfers as well as apartments, hotels and villas on an accommodation-only basis.

Symi Town

Arriving from the sea to the northeast coast on Symi brings you into Symi Town, also referred to as Yialos. Symi's history is revealed in every path of the town as visitors come across beautiful neoclassic residences with ochre-painted fronts, dome-shaped doors and tiled roofs

A Magical Island
Symi is a beautiful and magical island. Unspoilt by tourism it is the ideal spot for experience true Greek island life, to while away time people watching in the magnificent harbour or take in a little sightseeing with many beautiful churches and monasteries dedicated to the archangels and a 19th century castle. It is also a great island for beaches with a water taxi running around the island to the beach villages of Pedi bay and Marathouda. Explore inland and take the 375 steps of the famous Kali Strata into the old town of Chora and take in the superb vistas over the harbour onto the mainland of Turkey. This view of the harbour is pure magic - a series of tiers of neo-classical mansions set in an amphitheatre bay. The scene is particularly attractive at night, when the banked, orange street and house lights seem to roll into the sea
